Laurent Longuet, CEO - Generation at Positive Zero's interview with Energy Connects at the World Utilities Congress 2025
At the World Utilities Congress 2025, our CEO of Generation, Laurent Longuet, sat down with Energy Connects to talk about making clean energy and decarbonization fast, simple and profitable for businesses, and outlined the next phases of the UAE's clean energy transition.
The UAE’s 2050 net-zero target is ambitious, but achievable, and the only way to get there is by deploying real-world solutions today.
During the interview, Laurent explained how distributed energy resources are changing the game, because by decentralizing the grid, you also decentralize opportunity. He explained how Positive Zero is rolling out solar rooftop systems, carports, and battery storage across commercial and industrial sites—delivering cost-effective decarbonization that’s already operational at scale.
He also pointed to a shift in mindset. Businesses are no longer exploring sustainability out of obligation; they are actively seeking practical solutions that align with performance and long-term value.
The UAE’s energy landscape is well-positioned to support this momentum. With strong infrastructure, clear national targets, and openness to decentralized models, the market is ready. While supportive policy is integral, the next steps in progress depend on execution.
